Nostalgic Memories From An Old-Fashioned Farm Kitchen in Michigan
Nostalgic Memories from an Old-Fashioned Farm Kitchen was created while I was learning to work with Gelli plate transfers. I used an illustration and article from a 1952 issue of Coronet Magazine, featuring a woman's memories of breakfast in her Michigan farm kitchen. When the transfer didn't come through as clearly as I hoped, I outlined parts of the image in ink and built the rest of the composition around it with collaged breakfast-themed imagery.
The result is a playful collection of old-fashioned kitchen memories — a little different from my usual work, but a piece I really enjoyed making.
